[heathkit] finding signal in HR-10/DX-60 statjion

When I am operating my DX-60 and the HR-10 VFO, I can't hear my vfosignal in my
RX very well. It is so light that I can barely hear it.

Does anyone know how I can bump this up.

The signal is too strong when I key down in tune mode, If I make it reasonable
by cranking back the RF gain, the frequency is pulled along since I am modifying
the cathode voltage.

Anyone have a solution?

I guess could I "stiffen" the voltage just the way would a transistor?
