[heathkit] SB-101 adjustment problems.

Title: SB-101 adjustment problems.
I am going through the tuning procedures for the SB-101 (btw, the crystal replacement went well and all is working on that band)..
I am having some s-meter problems occurring when I do the  adjustments.  First, the HV setting the reading looks good on the meter, maybe a bit low but since the rig is working I can over look this.  Second.. When I went to zero the s-meter (pg93) I noticed that the potentiometer had to be placed all the way to the fully counter clockwise position before it would zero.  If you turned it clockwise at all it would dip to the below zero state.  But it did reach mostly zero so I moved on.  Third.. I noticed that when you switched it over to the 100-khz generator and tried to tune in the different bands on the receiver side, the S meter didn’t move at all.. The tone changed as the adjustments “came in” but there was no s-meter activity.  I haven't noticed any s-meter activity when listing to stations coming into the rig either.  Has anyone run into this problem before.. Any idea’s would be appreciated.

Thanks
