Thanks for your comments. I have just retired and dividing my time between work on the house and work on a new high performance homebrew station so not short of things to keep the brain going. I build new ham radio equipment kit in the Heath SB style to make it look consistent so quite challenging.

 

I recently helped a lady in Spain trouble shoot a 1960s Spanish copy of a Heath VTVM. Took a while but solved the problems eventually - interesting exercise to try and guess what is wrong from just a few symptoms!
