[heathkit] Frequency jumping

Hi Alan

I had this problem on an SB101 and it turned out to be dry wiper contacts on the VFO tuning capacitor. After 30+ years the grease had finally dried up. Some switch cleaner and fresh grease stopped the problem. I suspect that the original engineers never expected their designs would survive such a long period.

If that does not fix the problem then look for dry joints or faulty components in the VFO including any valve socket contacts. A freezer spray helps with intermittent faults.
