[heathkit] spot on HG-10

Hey,

Used to be that I could key down in tune mode and hear a strong signal
in my RX.

This is not happening any more.

I carefully rewired the VFO to include a neon bulb my friend gave me.

It happened after I put in the neon bulb and wired the VFO as explained
in the manual per the change to a DX-60.

The old neon bulb was blackend and the Green keying wire was pulled back
to not use the neon bulb.

This would be correct for the wiring of a DX-40 transmitter.

Prior to this, the green keying wire was simply hooked straight to the
cathode.

My real problem is that I can't figure out how to have real "spot"
operation in "tune mode" on the DX-60, using my VFO.

Are many variety's of neon bulbs for this purpose? Could I have one that
is the wrong type of bulb, or should I just forget about it and wire it
the same way it was before.

73,

Alan
