Yes windows has a recorder in it but you may have to add it , to do this you have to go to control panel and in add or remove run the windows file, if you have a windows disc it will ask you for it, the device is called windows recorder, it is very useful as it works via the sound card. Once you have it installed you get to via programs under accessories. and use the mic input on your sound card. I hope that you can get it working.
